4. Movie Thoughts: 28 Years Later
Help! I fell into a large plot hole and can't get out. And there's cheese in here, so I'm all covered in cheese. Does anyone know a doctor who can help me?

*spoilers*
Oh yea, he lives out in the countryside and lovingly curates skeletons with his homemade corpse burner. Really far out, not so it would be convenient for any sick individuals in the village. He believes that in this post apocalyptic world the best use of his skills is to maintain a constant bonfire furnace and harvest new bones for building his handmade three story bone monument park. He does not appear to have any food or clean water, since he disposes of the fleshy bits of the corpses in the river--but I guess his apparently unlimited supply of morphine and iodine helps him to push through the constant corpsing.
Meanwhile, you can think about how badly you need that granola bar to push through your 2pm Thursday meeting.
Seriously, when the child main character pulled the knife on daddy (not appropriate nor a good move, in my opinion) and took mommy on a nonconsensual zombie field trip, I knew the writers were breathing hot air into this corpse of a story. "Oh and hey kid, here's a random BABY to take care of on the way." I ALMOST walked out before they got to Mr. Doctor. But when we finally met Mr. Doctor I was laughing enough that I stayed for that reason. I was simultaneously revulsed by the cheese, however, so it was confusing.
I liked the visuals of the countryside and the post apocalyptic gas station and bus. Cinematically, the editing of different visuals interspersed into the main action was interesting and creepy.
I also liked the glimpses of their village life, but ultimately that was just a cardboard set in the background that was taken down quickly. E.g., queue the "I'm running away to be INDEPENDENT" ending--it fed well into the feeling that the village was a cardboard prop. I have no idea how these individuals survived. That woulda been interesting to learn about, perhaps. Anyone? Anyone?
I know they didn't have a competent doctor, though. That much was really clear to me.
